DOVER, N.H. — A Kittery man has been indicted on five counts of forgery alleging he stole from the same victim in each instance.

Jay Belmore, of 1 Palmer Ave., Kittery, Maine, faces up to seven years in prison and a $4,000 fine for each of the five Class B felonies he faces for events that occurred in October.

According to the indictments, Belmore, 36, acted under the victim’s name and attempted to draw five separate checks against the victim’s Bank of America bank account. The check was made payable to Belmore.

It is not disclosed whether the victim is known to Belmore.

He will be arraigned at Strafford County Superior Court Thursday, April 3.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt; rather, it means a jury found sufficient evidence to warrant a trial.
