FAIRFIELD, Maine — Police have confirmed the identity of a woman who was killed in a fiery head-on collision on Route 139 last week.

DNA testing confirmed the victim is Tammy Sue Harl, 39, of Norridgewock, Fairfield police Chief Tom Gould said in an email on Friday afternoon.

Harl was traveling along Route 139 when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a pickup truck driven by 33-year old Richard Savage of Madison.

The impact of the collision, which occurred on March 20, caused Harl’s vehicle to burst into flames. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
