MEDWAY – Mildred M. Stanley, 83, wife of the late Carl Stanley Sr., passed away March 26, 2014, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Aug. 23, 1930, in Medway, the daughter of Richard and Lillian (Thompson) Powers.
Mildred loved spending time with her grandkids, loved traveling with her sisters, and camp at Schoodic Lake. She would try any adventure. She was a devoted mother who taught us to take care of family. She decorated for every holiday and loved her flowers.
She is survived by six children, a very special son, Matthew Scott “Scottie” Stanley, Phillip Stanley and wife, Brenda, Pat Stanley and wife, Judy, Janet and husband, Ronnie Otis, Michelle “Mike” Stanley and boyfriend, Jeff Lane, and Carl Stanley Jr.; 11 grandchildren, Brandi, Christian, Carla, Shannon, Jaimie, Breann, Jim, Brandi, Matthew, PJ, and Chad; three brothers, Ricky, Pedie, and Jimmy Powers; four sisters, June Cox, Billy Fiske, Emma Ireland, and Colleen Grantham; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Barry, and Jimmy; and three sisters, Doreen McLaughlin, Betsy Ambrose, and Janice Hunt.
Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Saturday, at Calvary Temple-Assembly of God, 2 Orchard St., East Millinocket, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Regginal Adams and the Rev. Ralph Jacobs officiating. Interment will be at Grindstone Road Cemetery later on. Those who wish may donate in her memory to Pine Tree Camp.
