BANGOR, Maine — A public information session scheduled for Wednesday evening to update residents and business owners on a pair of major projects in Bangor has been postponed due to weather.
City officials planned to update the West Side Village neighborhood on projects planned for their area this construction season. The area stretches from Main Street west to Third Street and from Buck Street north to Union Street
The West Side revitalization effort began last year in response to residents’ concerns about public infrastructure, streets and sidewalks, crime and abandoned properties.
Staff also wanted to fill Bangor residents in on plans for a major road project on Main Street to be headed by Maine Department of Transportation.
The meetings were scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at James F. Doughty School.
The city decided to delay the meeting on Wednesday morning in advance of the afternoon snowstorm that is expected to drop 3-7 inches of snow on Bangor. It has not yet determined when the meeting will be rescheduled.
The city also has postponed the school committee meeting until 7 p.m., Wednesday, April. 2.
