Judith ‘Judy’ Flanagan

BANGOR – Judith A. “Judy” Flanagan, 74, wife of the late Paul R. Flanagan, died March 20, 2014 at a local hospital. She was born Oct. 25, 1939, in Island Falls, daughter of Edward K. and Madeline (Michaud) Pelkey.

Judy was a graduate of Howland High School, class of 1958 and a U.S. Navy veteran. She was further educated and received her L.P.N at St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing where she spent her working career. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, with the Ladies Y Player Singers and was an avid Bingo enthusiast.

Surviving are four children, Mark Pelkey and his wife, Donna, of Gorham, Shelley Burton and her husband, Jerry, of Westbrook, John Flanagan and his wife, Laurie, of Bangor, and Kari Dow of Bangor and her companion, Jeremy Wittine; 11 grandchildren, Todd, Mallory, Dylan, Derek, Christopher, Tyler, Abbigail, Lacy, Kaleb, Kameron, and Jaidan; three brothers, Edward Pelkey and his wife, Jackie, Gayland Pelkey and Michael Pelkey and his wife, Marie; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral liturgy outside of Mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 10 a.m. until time of service Monday. Spring interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
