ELLSWORTH – Forrest L. “Junior” Moore Jr., 86, passed away March 18, 2014. Junior was born November 15, 1927 in Ellsworth, the son of Forrest L. Moore, Sr. and Florence Beal Moore.
Junior started driving trucks at a very young age for the family business, Moore’s Motor Express that was incorporated in 1927. They moved furniture from New York to Bar Harbor. During the 50′s through the 70′s they delivered freight from east of Bangor to all the local businesses in the area. In later years he stepped out of the truck and into the dispatch chair, dispatching those trucks. He enjoyed doing his firewood every year as well as mowing his fields. If you ever stopped by to visit you could always find Junior in his rocking chair beside the old cook stove in the kitchen.
