STETSON AND NAPLES, FLA. – Douglas Seigle Frech, 79, passed away peacefully March 18, 2014 at his home. He was born March 26, 1934 in Sussex, New Jersey, a son of Walter and Mildred (Dennis) Frech.
He grew up in Sussex and attended Sussex schools. After high school, Douglas graduated from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) and Montclair University. His career as an educator and administrator was primarily in Morris County, New Jersey. As a master woodcarver, Douglas was an active member of the Golden Gate Woodcarvers in Naples, FL. His many artistic carvings were shared with family and friends. Doug was a voracious reader with a keen interest in history. He loved music, from classical to jazz, and was an accomplished drummer. He enjoyed golf at the Wilderness Country Club in Naples, FL and was a member of Morris County Golf Club. For many years he was active in the Bonita Springs Elks in Florida.
Douglas was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Haffner; and by his wives, Barbara Bridges and Mary Jane Webster. Mr. Frech is survived by his wife, Elinor (Halma) Frech; 2 sons, Eric Frech of Mountain View, CA and Scott Frech of Highbridge, NJ; a daughter, Claudia and husband, Jeffrey Teetsel of Phoenix, AZ; stepdaughter, Jackie Marcucci of Gibbstown, NJ; a brother, Bruce Frech of Sussex, NJ; grandsons, Justin Frech, Brandon Frech, Ryan Teetsel, Jason Teetsel and Christopher Brangwin; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, March 23rd at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex, NJ, 07461, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. George Perkins officiating. Burial will be in the Clove Cemetery, Wantage Township, Sussex County, New Jersey.
