Woman found dead in Monson; death not considered suspicious

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

MONSON, Maine — A woman was found dead in Piscataquis County on Monday afternoon, according to police.

Police are not releasing the woman’s name, as the medical examiner’s office is conducting an investigation, Chief Deputy Bob Young of the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

Young said the death is not being deemed suspicious, and the death was not a homicide.

“At this point, it’s a medical examiner case,” the chief deputy said.

Young said the body was discovered shortly before 3 p.m. Monday behind the old school building on Main Street.
