‘Mind Mischief’

BREWER — Logan Rouse, a mind reader who does not believe in psychic powers, will use a fine mixture of conjuring techniques, psychological mischief, dark humor, hypnosis, and side -how tricks to create a fun and heavily audience participation-based show when he performs “Mind Mischief” from 7-9 p.m., March 21, at Next Generation Theatre, 39 Center St.

Due to its dark and suggestive humor, this show is recommended to those age 15 and older. Admission is $15 per person. Beer and wine will be available for purchase for those 21 and older. 989-7100.

Cupcake Battle

BANGOR — Westgate’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team will hold the Third annual Cupcake Battles to benefit The Alzheimer’s Association on Friday, April 18, at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation-Westgate, 750 Union St. Judging will begin at 1:30 p.m., and the cupcakes will be offered for sale starting at 2 p.m.

Participants must have their cupcakes at the facility by 1 p.m. in order to enter them in the contest. Each contestant must bring 12-20 cupcakes to be sold to benefit the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Contestants may enter more than once, but each must contain 12-20 cupcakes.

There will be awards for Most Creative Design and Best Overall. Most Creative Design will be based on creativity, color and flavor. Best Overall will be judged based on appearance; flavor, texture and doneness; frosting consistency, “doneness” and flavor; and judges’ discretion.
