Helen D. Moscone

EAST MILLINOCKET – Helen D. Moscone, 98, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 6, 1916, in East Millinocket, the daughter of Dominic and Julia Moscone.
Helen grew up in East Millinocket, and was a graduate of Schenck High School. For many years she worked as a clerk at Federico’s Market (now Lounsbury’s Market). After that, she worked as a bookkeeper at Katahdin Motors in Millinocket. Helen was a lifelong communicant at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, East Millinocket. She enjoyed life to the fullest, and kept mind as sharp as a tack right to the end. Helen made friends easily, and never had a bad word to say about anyone, no matter the circumstance. She loved knitting, and enjoying a hot cup of tea. Her presence will be missed by all who knew her.
Helen is survived by a sister, Margaret Stoddard of East Millinocket; nieces, and nephews, Julie Antworth and her husband, Keith, of Bangor, Jane Meador and her husband, Bob, Edward Madden and his wife, Chimere, of Mattawamkeag, Scott and Edward Moscone of Millinocket, Margaret White and her husband, Brian, of Millinocket, and Anthony Moscone and his wife, Nancy, of East Millinocket; a special great-nephew, James Federico and his wife, Nancy, of East Millinocket; and special great-nieces, Rose Guy and her husband, David, of Millinocket, Katie Graham of Virginia; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by siblings, Tony, Joe, Mary, Lena, Charlie, and Willie; and two nephews, Henry Federico and Pat Federico and his wife, Lorraine.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Lamson Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Spring interment will be at East Millinocket Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, or donations may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O.
