Boothbay man charged with possession of child pornography

WISCASSET, Maine — A Lincoln County grand jury has indicted a Boothbay man on 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

Joseph F. Pinkham, 27, is charged with possession of images depicting children younger than 16 and younger than 12 engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The charges relate to Pinkham’s alleged possession of images from February 2012 to October 2013, according to the court documents.

Pinkham’s computer and cell phone were seized during a search warrant executed at his house on Oct. 11, 2013, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Detective Scott Hayden wrote in an affidavit.

The Maine Computer Crimes Unit allegedly found more than 200 pornographic images and videos of children ages 2 to 12.

According to Hayden, Pinkham has been found in possession of child pornography three times before.

Pinkham was arrested on Nov. 27 and released from jail on $50,000 surety on Dec. 2.

He is scheduled to appear in Lincoln County Superior Court on April 7.
