AUBURN, Maine — A Massachusetts man is facing drug charges after crack cocaine and heroin was found in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Sunday, police said.

Jean Valbrun, 25, had been stopped in his rental vehicle on Washington Street for an unspecified traffic violation at 4 p.m., according to Auburn Deputy Chief Jason Moen.

During a search of the vehicle, Officer Bernice Westleigh located 113 pounds of crack cocaine and 237 grams of heroin, according to Moen. The drugs were valued at $75,000.

Valbrun was traveling with his two children, ages 1 and 9, both of whom were released to the custody of a family member, the deputy chief said.

Valbrun was booked on two charges of aggravated drug trafficking and taken to Androscoggin County Jail, where he remains on $50,000 bail.
