HARRINGTON – Kenneth Dean Robinson, a lifetime resident of Washington County, passed away at the age of 73 on Friday, March 14, 2014, in Harrington. Kenneth was born in June 1940 to Carl and Ruth (Willey) Robinson in Addison.

He was raised in Addison and graduated from Addison High School in 1958. It was also while Kenneth was in high school that he met Glenna Look. They were married in Machias and settled in Harrington where they created their home and family. Early in their marriage, Kenneth worked in the woods before joining the U.S. Naval Security Group Activity (USNSGA) in Winter Harbor. With the USNSGA, he served as a fireman, retiring in 1995 after 23 years of service. Following his retirement, Kenneth became self-employed, working with his son, Alan, as a lobsterman. In his free time, he enjoyed four-wheeling, snowmobiling, vintage race cars, and attending local sporting events. Kenneth appreciated many different sports and especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren compete in football, wrestling, baseball, basketball, and soccer. He was also an avid fan of the Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics. If there ever was a conflict in watching games on television, Kenneth would watch one and record the other for later viewing. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed returning to the woods for deer, fowl, and moose. Kenneth will especially be remembered by his family for his youthful energy and love of people.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 56 years, Glenna Robinson, at home in Harrington; sons, Alan and his wife, Renee, of Harrington, Kevin and his wife, Kathy, of Harrington, Kenny Wayne and his wife, Dale, of East Machias, and Arthur and his wife, Amy, of Addison; aunt, Noreen Robinson; sister, Roberta and her partner, Dexter; brother-in-law, Royce Geel; sisters-in-law, Isabelle Look, and Ellen Look; grandchildren, Ashley, Jamie and her husband, Ian, Katie and her husband, Adam, Meghan, Brittany, Peter, Maegan, and Adam; great-grandchildren, Finn, Kiley, Aden, and Jasmine; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at the Milbridge chapel of Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Homes, with Pastor Jan Rhenow officiating. Visiting hours will be held the same day from noon until the service starts. Following the chapel ceremony, committal will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, Harrington. Remembrances may be donations to the Narraguagus School District Athletic Fund, care of Mr. Ronald Ramsay, SAD 37, 1020 Scarap Road, Harrington, ME 04643.
