PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Police in Presque Isle are seeking the public’s help to locate a stolen snowmobile and other winter items taken from a Main Street business early Friday morning.

Presque Isle police Sgt. Mark Barnes said Friday that the burglary at The Sled Shop at 108 Main St., took place sometime in the early morning hours.

Barnes said that the alleged person involved gained entry into the building and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The person also took a helmet, a set of snow pants and then jumped on a 2012 MXZ 800 XRS Turbo snowmobile and sped away from the scene.

Barnes said they have no leads at this point. Police are hoping that the distinctive markings on the yellow and black snowmobile will draw attention to it and lead to the capture of the person who stole it.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Presque Isle Police Department at 764-4476.
