Nancy (Phelps) Prather

STETSON – Nancy (Phelps) Prather, 64, died March 12, 2014, at her residence. She was born Oct. 21, 1949, in East Carondelet, Ill., a daughter of Frank and Dorris (Ogle) Phelps.

She married Robert Prather on June 4, 1969. Nancy was a homemaker for most of her life but worked for a time as a Congressional aide in Washington, D.C. Her passion was quilting and she belonged to the Clueless Quilters. She enjoyed her friends very much.

In addition to her husband of Stetson, Nancy is survived by a son, Joshua Prather of New Port Richey, Fla., and his wife, Barbra, and their two sons, Josh and Branden; a daughter, Amanda Lindsey of LaPlata, Md., and her husband, Derrick, and three children, Robert, Richard, and Emmeline; her mother, Dorris Ogle of St. Louis; two sisters, Deborah and Denise; two brothers, Neil and Jeff; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Frank Phelps; and her two cats, Lucy, and Ethel.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 17, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of services. Those who wish may leave written condolences at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
