Ralph O. Robinson

AUGUSTA – Ralph O. Robinson, 93, of Augusta and formerly of Chelsea, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation, Graybirch with his son and daughter at his side. He was born Feb. 27, 1921, in East Machias, the son of Stephen and Elizabeth (Gooch) Robinson.
Ralph worked as a truck driver for several local businesses, including Capitol Lumber, Mutual Lumber and Augusta Lumber. He was married to Geneieve (Morrison) Robinson until her death in 1975. Ralph loved his family unconditionally and always loved having them close. He was an exceptional dad and grandfather who always had a smile and loved to make those around him laugh and smile.
In addition to his wife, Ralph was predeceased by his grandson, Chris Robinson. He is survived by his son, Ron Robinson of Harmony; his daughter, Susan Bell and her husband, Robert, of Mount Vernon; a stepdaughter, Judy Murray; grandchildren, Rob Robinson and his wife, Donna, Steve Bell and his wife, Michelle, Michael Bell and his wife, Charity, Jayson Bell and his companion, Haley, Nicholas Bell and his companion, Hillary, Steve Lincoln and his wife, Nancy, Lori Croman and her husband, Craig; and 15 great-grandchildren.
There will be no services at this time. A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Hallowell Cemetery. Ralph’s family can never thank his “Other family” at Graybirch enough for all the great care and love they have given him for the past seven years and the support they have shown for his son and daughter. Memorial donations may be made to the Chris Robinson Scholarship, MSAD 11, Attention Pauline Fenfron, 150 Highland Ave., Gardiner, ME 04345. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street, Augusta.
