BROWNVILLE JUNCTION – Mary Joyce Sullivan, 88, passed away peacefully March 7, 2014, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft.
Joyce liked to travel, spend time at the lake, and especially enjoyed playing cards with her closest friends. She worked at the Brownville Junction Post Office for many years and eventually became the Postmaster. She was well liked by many in town. Joyce was always a hard worker. She took on many projects including, canning, sewing, woodworking, ceramics and baking special treats for her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Sullivan; and three brothers. She is survived by one brother, Jim Crandall and his wife, Brenda, of Greenville. Also surviving are her son, Rodney Crandall of Pennsylvania; and daughters, Ann Sullivan and her partner, Becky Higgins, of Hampden, and Jeannie Sullivan of Farmingdale. She has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and special nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by her granddaughter, Julie Trudelle of Brewer and her son, Colin.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to all who cared for our mother at Hibbard and those who cared for her in her home.
There will be no services at this time as Joyce requested. There will be a Spring interment for close friends and family.
