Game notes: The Black Bears play their first tourney game in two years, thus only three players (Roberts, Wallace, Courtney Anderson) have postseason experience. UMaine and Hartford split two regular-season meetings. The Bears have won two straight and six of eight while the Hawks have won three of their last four. The squads are comparable statistically, so UMaine must rebound well and limit turnovers in addition to shooting well and avoiding foul trouble. A strong start and preventing Hartford from generating confidence from the 3-point arc also are key factors for coach Richard Barron’s team. UMaine is 9-2 in night games this season. The winner advances to face either No. 1 Albany or No. 8 Binghamton in Sunday’s semifinals.
