Carmaleta W. Farrington

SOUTH CHINA – Carmaleta W. Farrington, 72, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, following a brief illness. She was born June 23, 1941, in Benton Falls, a daughter of the late Walter V. and Ethel H. (Reynolds) Wood.
Mrs. Farrington was a graduate of Lawrence High School in Fairfield and was a member of the South China Community Church. She was a past worthy matron of the Lily Of the Valley Eastern Star chapter 157 of Weeks Mills Maine. In addition she was a long time member of the Auxiliary unit 179. She was co-owner of Farrington’s Clothing on Rt. 3 in South China for over 20 years. She also worked for MBNA and, most recently, was a Corporate Officer and Co-Founder of Break of Day MHG.
Mrs. Farrington was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Paul L. Farrington; two brothers: Lawson and Ronald Wood; and a sister, Roberta Bourassa. She is survived by her loving companion, Gordon Richards of Brunswick and his family; her son, Bradley P. Farrington of South China; her daughter, Kimberly F. Greenleaf and Kathryn J. Brillant of Brunswick; a sister, Harriet Wood of Westport Island; a former daughter-in-law, Robin Mank of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jason Canders of Greenville, Kristina and Kirk Grover of Topsham, Clinton Greenleaf and Christina McClure of Topsham, Jeffery Farrington of Greenville, Megan Farrington of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Tim Brillant and Zack Moron of Brunswick, and Kiara Boissevain of Brunswick; great-grandchildren, Devon Grover of Topsham, Jason and Marc Magno of Topsham, Lance Owens and Bristol Canders of Greenville, and Kaylee and Katie Greenleaf of Topsham; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Plummer Funeral Home, Windsor Chapel, 983 Ridge Road, Route 32, Windsor.
