Game notes: The Black Bears look to establish some consistency as they open a 17-day, 15-game trip to Florida at the Stetson Invitational. The team was scheduled to arrive late Thursday night. UMaine’s first two opponents were both ranked 13th in the country. The Bears’ offense has been sporadic thus far, especially at the bottom of the order. Furman is batting .284 as a team, averaging 6.4 runs per contest. The Paladins of the Southern Conference have dropped four straight, most recently a 6-4 loss at Georgia on Tuesday. UMaine faces Iowa on Saturday at 1 p.m., then meets Stetson on Sunday at 3 p.m.
