CORINTH – Joleen Pedersen, 55, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, surrounded by her family, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 26, 1958, in Bangor, the daughter of the late Raymond Arnold and Florence (Griffin) Merchant.
She was a waitress for many years at Nicky’s Cruisin’ Diner in Bangor, where she made a lot of friends with people she worked with as well as customers. One of her passions was Wonderland Christmas Tree Farm which she owned and operated alongside her husband George.
She is survived by her husband, George of Corinth; two sons, Justin Arnold-McKay of Kenduskeag, and Benjamin Arnold of Obermohr, Germany; and grandson, Delton Duncan of Corinth. She also leaves behind four siblings, Norma Fogg and her husband, Rod, of Hampden, Gloria Welch of Bangor, John Arnold and his wife, Lula, of Eddington, and Donnie Arnold and his wife, Robin, of Orono; as well as several nieces and nephews. This past fall George and Joleen lost their family pet and loyal dog “Cooper.”
A celebration of life will be held 2-6 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Jeff’s Catering 15 Littlefield Way, Brewer. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the following organizations, EMMC for their outstanding staff throughout the years, especially the ICU, DaVita, Cancer Care of Maine for their support during this time, and the American Kidney Foundation.
