Bertha Bell (Keezer) Mutzabaugh

BANGOR – Bertha Mutzabaugh, 91, died Feb. 24, 2014, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born April 3, 1922, in Eddington, the daughter of David and Effie (Mayhew) Keezer.

She came from a large family of 14 siblings. Bertha married her Army-Air Force husband, David T. Mutzabaugh Sr., in 1942. She had four children, Lynda (Mutzabaugh) Goniwika and her husband, Raymond, of Michigan, David T. Mutzabaugh Jr. of Augusta, Joseph Mutzabaugh and his wife, Debbie, of Bangor, Cassandra (Mutzabaugh) Shaw and her husband, George, of Bangor. Bertha had four grandchildren in Michigan and nine great-grandchildren; and in Maine, a grandson, Michael Landry of Bangor; and a granddaughter, Carrie (Landry) Bourque and her husband, Josiah Bourque; two great-grandchildren, Paris and Draven Bourque. Bertha loved to cook and entertain and was a great gardener and seamstress. She loved to travel and did so worldwide with her military husband. She also had a large dish of ice cream every evening watching TV.

Bertha was predeceased by her husband, David; her daughter, Lynda and her husband, Ray; and her parents, David and Effie Keezer.

There will be no services for Bertha. A burial and celebration of life will be later in the summer.
