HAMPDEN, Maine — A 26-year-old Indiana man was taken to a Bangor hospital Wednesday after he suffered a serious leg injury at a local truck rental business.

Hampden police Officer Jeff Rice said the man was at Penske Truck Rental, located at 65 Carey Circle, to offload a rental truck at about 3:45 p.m., when a Penske employee backed another truck out of a wash bay and struck him, pinning him between the two vehicles.

The injured man’s name was not released. Rice said the man’s left leg was badly twisted and appeared to have been broken.

The Penske employee, 30-year-old Jodie Merchant of Bangor, did not see the man, and no charges are anticipated, Rice said.
