FREEPORT – Keith William Gardiner, 52, died Feb. 22, 2014. He was born Nov. 12, 1961, in Bangor, the son of Carolyn (Goodeill) and Kenneth Gardiner.
He graduated from Milford High School in Milford, N.H., and attended UMO where he studied Business. He was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. Keith worked for Sheraton and in 1986 this interest led him to become a co-owner of the Casco Bay Inn in Freeport. The Inn has been expanded twice and run as a family owned and operated property ever since. Keith also “found” a very special place that became known as “Little Yellow Camp” where all were welcome and the living was easy. Party boat rides and simply enjoying Cold Stream Pond with family were made all the better with Keith’s ever present good sense of humor. It was quality time, anytime. Keith enjoyed camping, playing golf, photography, winters in Naples, Fla., and canoeing the Allagash with his father and Uncle Dale. He will be remembered for his great empathy and love of his entire family. He will be greatly missed.
Keith is survived by his parents of Freeport; his sister, Sheri Parker and her husband, Don, and their daughters, Lauren and Reiley, of Freeport; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March, 1, at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. The celebration of his life will then continue with a gathering at The Casco Bay Inn, 107 US Route 1, Freeport. In keeping with Keith’s generosity please consider making a donation in Keith’s name to a charity of your choice.
