PORTLAND, Maine — The last of the great crooners, Tony Bennett will perform at the Merrill Auditorium on April 19.

A 17-time Grammy Award-winning musician who hung with the Brat Pack, Bennett’s career spans six decades, with hits such as “Fly Me to the Moon,” “The Way You Look Tonight” and “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.”

The 87-year-old puts on a Vegas-style performance complete with tuxedos and jazz numbers, with words such as “timeless” and “classic” frequently used to describe his shows.

He newest album, “Tony Bennett: The Classics,” was released last year by Sony. The show is put on by the Waterfront Concerts.

Tickets go on sale Friday and are priced between $72.75 and $132.75. They can be purchased by calling 842-0800 or online at www.waterfrontconcerts.com and www.porttix.com.
