Larry L’Italien

BANGOR and EAGLE LAKE – Larry L’Italien, 67 , died peacefully, Feb. 20, 2014, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born June 13, 1946, in Eagle Lake, the son of the late Albert and Jeanne (Berube) L’Italien.
Larry served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969. He worked in the woods with his grandfather, uncles and his father before he went into the service. In April of 1969 he became fully disabled from an injury sustained in Germany.
He met his wife at Valley Forge Army hospital in 1968, they married March 29, 1969. Larry truly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 45 years and his family, nieces, and nephews. Larry is now living his fourth day having done his Cursillo in 1987.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia “Ginny” (Beale) L’Italien of Eagle Lake; four brothers, Normand and wife, Theresa L’Italien, of St. John, Allen and wife, Russete L’Italien, of Hampden, Rodney and wife, Claire L’Italien, of Eagle Lake, and Daniel L’Italien of Aliquippa, Pa.; and one sister, Lucy and husband, Dave Maldanado, of Fountain, Colo.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, and 9-10:15 a.m. Wednesday, at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent, until time of departure for Eagle Lake. A Mass of Christian burial with full military honors will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Caribou VA cemetery.
