By Tim Cox, BDN Staff

LUBEC, Maine — A 10-year-old autistic boy who wandered away from his home and was reported missing Wednesday morning was found and reunited with his family about 30 minutes later.

Ambulance personnel found the boy a short distance from his home about 10 a.m. They checked him out to ensure he was OK and reunited him with his family, according to Joshua Rolfe, supervisor of the Washington County Regional Communications Center.

A caller to the regional communications center about 9:24 a.m. described the boy as autistic and said he was clad only in underwear and socks. He was reported as last being seen in the vicinity of County Road and Pumping Station Road.
