Impending snowstorm postpones West Class B girls basketball games to Wednesday; evening games in Augusta also rescheduled

Due to the impending snowstorm projected for the southern Maine area Tuesday afternoon and early evening, the Western Maine Class B girls basketball tournament quarterfinal round was postponed for Tuesday and moved to Wednesday, the Maine Principals’ Association announced in a news release.

The evening session of West Class C girls games was also postponed to Wednesday.

All quarterfinal West Class B girls games will still be played at the Portland Exposition Building. The Western Maine Class A boys semifinal games will be played at the Cumberland County Civic Center as scheduled. The revised schedule for Wednesday is:

Western Maine Class B Girls Quarterfinals — Portland Exposition Building:

No. 3 Wells vs. No. 6 Gray-New Gloucester, 9 a.m.

No. 2 Spruce Mountain vs. No. 7 Fryeburg Academy, 10:30 a.m.

No. 4 Greely vs. No. 5 Lincoln Academy, 1 p.m.

No. 1 Lake Region vs. No. 8 York, 2:30 p.m.

Western Maine Class A Boys Semifinals — Cumberland County Civic Center:

No. 2 Falmouth vs. No. 3 Bonny Eagle, 6 p.m.

No. 1 Portland vs. No. 4 Deering, 7:30 p.m.

In Augusta, the Old Orchard-Madison, St. Dominic-Dirigio games were moved to Wednesday.

The revised Augusta schedule for Wednesday is:

Girls, West C: No. 4 Old Orchard vs. No. 5 Madison, 8:30 a.m.

Boys, West D: No. 6 North Haven vs. No. 2 Hyde, 10 a.m.

Boys, West D: No. 4 Valley vs. No. 1 Forest Hills, 11:30 a.m.

Girls, West C: No. 1 St. Dominic’s vs. No. 8 Dirigo, 1 p.m.

Girls, East A: No. 3 Oxford Hills vs. No. 7 Messalonskee, 2;30 p.m.

Girls, East A: No. 1 Edward Little vs. No. 4 Cony, 4 p.m.

Boys, East A: No. 2 Brunswick vs. No. Oxford Hills, 7:30 p.m.

Boys, East A: No. 1 Hampden Academy vs. No. 5 Edward Little, 9 p.m.
