BANGOR — The Husson University Eagles posted a 47-26 halftime lead en route to an 86-69 men’s basketball win over Johnson State Saturday.
Husson improved to 21-2 overall and 15-1 in the North Atlantic Conference.
Trevon Butler paced the Eagles with 16 points and eight rebounds while Brooks Spaulding grabbed nine rebounds.
Josh Reed sparked Johnson State (6-17, 3-13) with 16 points.
Lyndon 91, MMA 78
At Castine on Saturday, George Carle scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Lyndon State (11-12, 11-5) by Maine Maritime Academy (2-21, 1-15).
Jason Hatch paced MMA with 18 points and Shep Carter added 17. Tyler Chiasson chipped in with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Castleton State 98, UMF 92
At Farmington on Saturday, Castleton State College senior Logan White’s 3-pointer with 52 seconds remaining gave the Spartans (15-2, 17-7) a lead they held the rest of the way in the win over UMaine-Farmington (10-13, 8-8).
Castleton finished with four players in double digits, led by White with 27 points
Ben Johnson recorded 29 points and 16 rebounds to lead UMF while Andrew Dickey added 19. Garrett Clemmer and Pet Sumner each added 15 points and Nate Carson had 10 points and four assists.
Thomas 89, Green Mountain 84
At Waterville on Saturday, Thomas was able to come back from a 14-point first-half deficit to defeat Green Mountain College.
Garen Manzo had a career-high 33 points in the victory, with 24 coming in the second half. Levi Barnes added 16 points and seven rebounds.
Cassius Belfon paced GMC with 24 points.
Husson 75, Johnson St. 54
At Newman Gym on Bangor on Saturday, Chandler Guerrette scored Husson’s first seven points and finished with 14 as the Eagles improved to 12-11 overall and 11-5 in the North Atlantic Conference.
Rebecca Young added 10 points for the Eagles and Kathryn Brouchu had nine rebounds.
Kirsten Rand and Brittany Robertson each scored eight points to lead Johnson State..
MMA 73, Lyndon St. 43
At Castine on Saturday, Ashley Shine scored a career-high 33 points to lead Maine Maritime Academy (14-9, 11-5) to its third straight win.
Leach Jackson grabbed 14 rebounds for the Mariners and Kari Jones added nine points.
Drew Neal paced Lyndon State with 11 points.
Castleton 91, UMF 60
At Farmington on Saturday, Castleton State (21-3, 16-1) shot a scorching 52.6 percent from the field in the second half while clamping a defensive lid on the University of Maine at Farmington (9-14, 8-8) en route to the win.
Jade Desroches paced Castleton with 26 points.
Lindsay Ranquist recorded 15 points and six rebounds to lead UMF and Ayla Allen added 11 points.
Thomas 63, Green Mountain 51
At Waterville on Saturday, Elizabeth Goodall scored a career-high 23 points to lead Thomas (4-19, 4-12) by Green Mountain (1-20, 0-17).
