PITTSFIELD – Janet M. White passed away Feb. 6, 2014, in her home with family by her side after two courageous years of fighting cancer.
Janet was born and raised in Manchester, Conn. She was an avid painter, gardener and a member of the local art club.
Midge was born one of five children; Barbara, Spike, Jackie and Big Bill to the late John and Stella Hampson. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 59 years, Richard White Sr.; her four children, Richard White and wife, Mari, John White and wife, Gail, Kathy Mollet and Janet Plecity; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Allison, Beth, and Lindsey; seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Audrey, Alexandria, Ella, Teagan, Tyler John, and Kaeleigh; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Midge loved life and shared it through her many talents. She has touched the lives of countless friends and family. We are blessed to have been a part of her life.
A time of visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Curtis officiating. A gathering at the funeral home will follow the memorial service.
