Game notes: The Black Bears are riding a four-game winning streak but face their biggest test of the conference season against the surging Great Danes. UMaine won 60-56 Wednesday at Hartford, while Albany beat UMBC 56-46 on Tuesday. The defending AE champion Great Danes have won 13 in a row. UMaine must contend with the versatile Richards and the towering Craig. Albany leads AE in scoring (73.0 ppg), scoring defense (55.5 ppg) field-goal percentage (.480). The Bears must control the tempo, keep turnovers in check and limit Albany’s trasition opportunities.

Game notes: UMaine has dropped three in a row and heads to Albany trying to extricate itself from last place in the conference standings. The Black Bears are coming off Wednesday’s 91-79 home loss to Hartford. The Great Danes have lost two straight, most recently 71-69 setback at UMBC on Wednesday. Johnson lit up UMaine with his slashing moves to the basket in the first meeting. UMaine continues to search for more consistency on the defensive end, which has been its Achilles’ heel all season. SEFCU Arena is the site of next month’s AE tournament.
