VAN BUREN – Patricia “Petit” D. Madore, 83, our beloved mother passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Borderview Rehabilitation and Living Center in Van Buren surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was born on June 9, 1930, in Van Buren, the daughter of Joseph and Maggie (Sirois) Dubay and stepmother, Winnifred (Madore) Dubay.
Patricia grew up in Van Buren and graduated from Sacred Heart School in 1948. She married the boy next door, Claude, and together they raised 11 children. Patricia’s greatest joy in life was her family. She had a passion for cooking, especially during the holidays and special occasions. Her many talents included crocheting, knitting, sewing and gardening, which she often shared with everyone she came in contact with. She was devoted to her church, St. Bruno-St. Remi, serving as reader, part-time cook, and chairperson of the Mercy Meal committee. She was a past regent of the Daughters of Isabella. Patricia’s smile and pleasant demeanor shall always be cherished by her family and friends.
Patricia is survived by seven sons, Lorne and his wife, Dianne; Glenn of Van Buren; Philip and his wife, Kathy, of Plattsburgh, NY; David, Jim and his wife, Lita, of Van Buren; Larry and his companion, Kellee Greatorex of Bangor and Rodney and his wife, Julie, of Marlborough, CT; two daughters, Donna Fonseca of Wilton and Brenda Chasse and her husband, Jim, of Van Buren; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Larochelle of Lewiston. Patricia was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Claude; daughter Claudette, and son, Ti-John; sisters, Lillian Laplante, Cecile Narvick, Therese Levesque, Bernadette Glover, Solange Dubay, and Carlene Daines; brothers Lorne, Robert and Cecil Dubay.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren, with Fr. David Cote officiating. Relatives and friends may call from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the spring in the parish cemetery.
