BANGOR, Maine — Emera Maine crews are planning to conduct maintenance Monday to the electrical system on Mount Desert Island.

The work will result in a planned power outage expected to last from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., spokesman Bob Potts said Wednesday in a news release.

Affected areas will include 1029 Eagle Lake Road to the intersection of Sound Drive, including Mount Desert Island High School, Sound Drive toward Northeast Harbor, including the following roads: Butler, Oak Grove, Stanley Mountain, South West Valley and Sargent Point roads, Abels Lane, Sargent Drive and the town of Mount Desert Maintenance Garage.

Potts said the interruption of power is needed to enable Emera Maine to upgrade its electrical system in the safest possible manner. Questions should be directed to the Customer Service Center at 973-2000.
