O’Neil helps Colby men cruise past UMPI

WATERVILLE, Maine —- Connor O’Neil had one of his best all-around games with 21 points, seven rebounds, and six assists to lead the Colby College men’s basketball team to a 101-66 non-conference win over University of Maine at Presque Isle on Tuesday night.

Colby, which won seven games a year ago, moves to 13-9 overall while UMPI fell to 8-14.

O’Neil shot 6-for-9 from the field, 4-for-6 from 3-point range, 5-for-6 from the foul line, had two steals, and just one turnover.

Colby center Chris Hudnut also had 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting, pulled down eight rebounds, and had two steals. Patrick Stewart chipped in with 17 points.

The Owls had five players in double figures, including 14 points from Michael Warner. Claude Louis had 13 points, four assists, and three steals. Chase Vicaire scored 12 points, while Derek Healy and Thiago Conceicao both had 10 points.
