LOUISVILLE, Tenn. – Dennis Elton Tenney, 72, of Louisville, Tenn., passed away with his family by his side on Feb. 6, 2014, in Altamonte Springs, Fla. He was born to George Elton and Helena (Zwicker) Tenney on Aug. 1, 1941, in Bangor.
After graduating Bangor High School in 1959, he immediately joined the U.S. Air Force where he began his life long career as an aircraft mechanic. While stationed in, what was then, McCoy AFB in Orlando, Fla., he met his wife, Deborah Ann Miller. They were married on Oct. 2, 1965, in Orlando, Fla. Upon retiring in 1979 he settled with his family in Winter Springs, Fla. In 2000, he and Debbie moved to Louisville, Tenn.
He loved his family and he loved the outdoors. During their retirement together, Dennis and Debbie loved to travel in their RV visiting friends and family along the way. They enjoyed hiking in the mountains, cycling, fishing, kayaking in the Florida Keys, square dancing and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Dennis was predeceased by both his parents. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Deborah A. Tenney of Louisville, Tenn.; his three children, Conrad E. Tenney and his wife, Kim, of Oviedo, Fla., Kirsten A. Blum and her husband, David, of Athens, Ga., and Kyle W. Tenney and his partner, JJ Keathley, of Sanford, Fla.; brother, Rodney Tenney and his wife, Lydia, of Gardiner; and his five grandchildren, Caralyn, Connor, Anna, Chloe and Evelyn.
