BRUNSWICK, Maine — A 20-year-old Brunswick woman suffered minor injuries Sunday night after a bullet fired into her home struck a TV, causing it to explode.
Brunswick police responded at 10:01 p.m. to 37 McLellan St. for a report that a gun had been fired into a residence, according to Deputy Chief Marc Hagan of the Brunswick Police Department.
The bullet went through a window in the exterior wall of the home, struck the TV and continued into the next room.
The victim did not require medical treatment, Hagan said. Two other residents of the home, a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, were uninjured, as was a 18-year-old Bowdoinham woman who was there at the time.
Freeport police responded with a tracking dog and conducted a search, which was inconclusive, Hagan said. Police were at the scene until just after 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Hagan said the investigation continues, and added, “We do not believe the residence was randomly chosen.”
Correction: An earlier version of this report incorrectly stated that the injured person was male.
