An Old Town woman was critically injured Sunday afternoon when her Ford Focus left I-95 in Hermon, struck a ledge and rolled over.

HERMON, Maine — An Old Town woman was critically injured Sunday afternoon when her car crashed off Interstate 95 near Cold Brook Road, according to the Maine State Police.

Myndie Davis, 31, was driving south about 3:30 p.m. in the left lane when her 2000 Ford Focus drifted out of the lane toward the median for an unknown reason, Trooper Chris Hashey said.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Davis apparently overcorrected and drove across both lanes, the trooper said. Her car left the highway, hit a rock ledge and rolled over. The car came to rest on its roof.

Rescue personnel had to extricate Davis from her car, Hashey said. She was wearing a seat belt.

Davis’ 3-year-old son, who was in the car with her, was taken to EMMC as a precaution, but suffered no visible injuries, according to the trooper.
