Police seek suspect who knocked down, robbed Sanford man walking home

SANFORD, Maine — A man was knocked down and robbed of his wallet Friday night while walking on Tibbett Avenue, according to Sanford police.

The male victim reported he was walking home at about 7:05 p.m., when he was knocked down from behind and then punched in the face, according to a press release issued Saturday.

“The perpetrator then removed the victim’s wallet from his pants and fled on foot,” the press release stated. “No weapons were displayed.”

The suspect was described as a white male dressed in a black hoodie.
