Marilyn F. (Kealiher) Johnson

QUINCY, Mass. – Marilyn F. (Kealiher) Johnson, 81, died peacefully, Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at the home of her daughter, Rosanne, surrounded by her loving family.
Marilyn was born in Bangor, raised and educated in Bangor schools and was a graduate of Bangor High School. She was also a graduate of Gordon College, formerly of Boston. She has lived in Quincy for most of her life and had enjoyed summers in the camp grounds of Carmel for many years. Marilyn was employed as a teacher at the Center Elementary School in Hanover, Mass., for many years and later worked as a substitute teacher for the Quincy Public School Department. She was a longtime active member of the Central Baptist Church in Quincy, Mass., and also a member of the Weymouth Baptist Church where she directed the children’s choir. She was one of the founders of the “Sunshine Club” which was a Bible study group that visited Weymouth nursing homes. Marilyn was devoted to her family and especially to her eight cherished grandchildren.
Beloved wife of the late William A. Johnson. Devoted mother of Rosanne McCarthy and her husband, David, of Quincy, Mass. Loving grandmother of Collin, Gerald, Rosella, Diana, Lisa, Francis, Chloe, and Harrison. Dear daughter of the late, Grace (Hillman) and Clyde Bates Kealiher. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Carolyn Pinkham; and her brother, Clyde Bates Kealiher Jr. And is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at the Central Baptist Church, 67 Washington Street, Quincy, Mass. Pastor David Martinez will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours held 1-6 p.m. Sunday, at Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Ave., Quincy, Mass. Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy, Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to Reece’s Rainbow, P.O.
