AUGUSTA, Maine — Central Maine Power crews were heading to Pennsylvania on Thursday to assist with electricity restoration efforts in that state.
Approximately 25 two-man bucket crews and 12 supervisors left for the Philadelphia area Thursday morning after wet snow and ice left 250,000 customers without power, CMP spokeswoman Gail Rice said.
Rice said the crews were expected to arrive in Pennsylvania late Thursday.
Southeastern Pennsylvania was whacked with snow and ice earlier this week, and the same storm rolled into Maine and lasted through Wednesday.
Rice said the storm caused extensive tree damage.
“They need our help,” she said.
