PLYMOUTH – Julie Henderson, 66, passed away comfortably Feb. 4, 2014 at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 20, 1947, in Cambridge, MA, a daughter of Hermon and Edith (Buckler) Newcomb.
Julie grew up in Chicopee, and Framingham, MA, graduating from Framingham North High in 1965. She attended Springfield Technical Community College and lived many years in central Massachusetts before moving to Plymouth in 1999. Julie enjoyed gardening, her dogs, and antiquing. For the last 30 years she has been instrumental in helping many people toward sobriety.
She is survived by her children, David Briones and wife, Kim of Medford, MA, Julie-Anne (Briones) Gamache of Ludlow, MA and Aaron Newcomb Fay of Springfield, MA; brothers, Bradford Newcomb and wife, Pam of Newport, Christopher Newcomb and wife, Kristine of Woburn, MA; brother-in-law, Doug Davies and wife, Karen of Gales Ferry, CT; grandchildren, C.J, Justin, Alexis, Jack, D.J., Morgan, Noah, and Nash; Uncle Willard Ellis of Yarmouthport, MA and Uncle Charlie and Aunt Elaine Buckler of Centerville, MA; nieces and nephews, Denise, Pamela, Tyler, Hailey-Grace, Kallie-Faith, Trevor, Lillith, Estlin, Sam, and Nate. She will be greatly missed by her numerous friends and her special friend, Ella, “Woof”. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister, Linda (Newcomb) Davies.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 8th at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with the Rev. William Johnson officiating. Spring burial will be in the Ancient Cemetery, Yarmouth, MA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation jdrf.org.
