BANGOR – Rita Perkins Cote, 49, died peacefully at her home the morning of Jan. 29, 2014. Rita was born Sept. 6, 1964, in Bangor. She was welcomed into the world by her parents, Marion Hall and Harold Perkins.

Rita graduated high school at Searsport high and went on to further her education in CNA work. She loved caring for people and loved what she did which was working with the elderly. Rita was a bright light into many peoples lives, She was known for her funky jewelry, bright colored clothes, her love for cats and among other things her love for her two grandchildren, Darien and Levi, which she talked about whenever possible. She also had deep love for her two children, Kris and Jenna. She had a servants heart and always wanted to care for the people that had nothing. She never judged people and always had her arms wide open. Her smile will stay in the hearts of her loved ones and friends for a lifetime and she will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Rita was predeceased by her brother, Shawn Perkins. Her survivors include her mother, Marion Hall; daughter, Jenna Dumoulin; son, Kris Bernier; sister, Marcy Rooney; sister, Connie Hamilton; and many other aunts, cousins, and family and friends who will dearly miss her.

Those who wish to rejoice in her remembrance are welcomed to attend her funeral and reception, which will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Assembly Of God Church, 614 Finson Road, Bangor. To send condolences or cards, please send to 169 Griffin Road, Apt. 4, Bangor, ME 04401.
