FORT FAIRFIELD – Pauline E. Hitchcock, 64, wife of the late Kenneth “Mickey” Hitchcock, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at her Fort Fairfield residence. She was born Sept. 24, 1949, in Rockland, the daughter of Robert Henry and Clara (Johnson) McLeod.
She was a graduate of the Rockland School System and also attended nursing school. She was married to Kenneth “Mickey” Hitchcock in 1968 and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in both Milford, Conn., and Jermyn, Pa. Pauline worked at several area convenience stores over the years as manager and cashier, most recently as a cashier at R & J’s Market, Fort Fairfield.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Mickey, on March 18, 1981; and two sisters, Brenda and Beth. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Susan Hitchcock of Gonzales, La., and Keith and Brenda Hitchcock of Fort Fairfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Donald Murphy Jr. of Fort Fairfield; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Dane, Chase, Janie Lynn, Andrew Benny, Joseph Michael, Jamie Linda, and Destiny Faith; and three great-grandchildren, Carmon, Katelyn and Abrielle.
In keeping with Pauline’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private graveside service for her family will be conducted at a later date.
