BANGOR, Maine — An Old Town man is facing multiple charges after police found drugs and weapons on his possession at a Bangor department store, police said.

Officers were called to Macy’s on Friday when it was reported David Ackley, 34, was acting strangely, according to Bangor police Sgt. Cathy Rumsey.

Rumsey said store management wanted Ackley removed from the establishment. He was in the men’s section trying clothes on when police found him.

As officers spoke with Ackley, they found a partially concealed knife attached to his pants, prompting police to search him for other weapons, the sergeant said.

A pair of brass knuckles and a fully concealed second knife were also found, Rumsey said.

Ackley was placed under arrest and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a dangerous knife and unlawful possession of a Schedule Z drug as a pair of prescription pills were also allegedly found.
