Styx, Foreigner to bring classic rock to Bangor Waterfront

BANGOR, Maine — Classic rock is coming to the Darling’s Waterfront Pavillion Saturday, July 5, when legendary rockers Styx and Foreigner with special guest Don Felder, formerly of the Eagles, take the stage.

Combined, they’ve sold more than 250 million albums worldwide and had 36 No. 1 and Top 10 smash hit singles.

Tickets for the Soundtrack of Summer tour, being held in Bangor as part of the Machias Savings Bank Concert Series, go on sale Feb. 7.

Known for chart toppers such as “Come Sail Away” and “Mr. Roboto,” Chicago-based Styx rose to fame in the ’70s and ’80s.

They will be joined by British-American rock band Foreigner — one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time.

“As longtime friends, we’re happy to join Styx and Don Felder for the ultimate soundtrack of summer,” Foreigner founding member and lead guitarist Mick Jones said in a press release announcing the appearance. “Our combined songs are some of America’s favorite summer anthems, and we’re excited to be bringing them to our fans across the country.”

Tickets for this show range from $21.75 to $81.75, plus applicable processing fees. Tickets go on sale at noon Friday, Feb. 7, at waterfrontconcerts.com, Ticketmaster.com, by calling 800-745-3000 or visiting Mark’s Music in Brewer.

“This tour will have the best vocalists and guitarists on the road today,” said Felder, former Eagles songwriter and guitarist. “The sheer volume of our combined catalogs is massive and should satisfy any rock ’n’ roll fan, and rock them until they can’t walk out of the place.”
