Cirque du Soleil to perform ‘Varekai’ in Bangor for first time

BANGOR, Maine — Cirque du Soleil of Quebec will perform its newest arena show, “Varekai,” for seven shows June 18-22, at Cross Insurance Center. Advance tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Directed by Dominic Champagne, this production pays tribute to the nomadic soul, to the spirit and art of the circus tradition, and to those who quest with infinite passion along the path that leads to the magical and remote place of Varekai, according to a Global Spectrum press release.

Shows will be at at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, June 18-21; 4 p.m. Saturday, June 21; and 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday, June 22.

Advance tickets are available to Cirque Club members exclusively through Feb. 10. Cirque Club membership is free at www.cirqueclub.com.

Ticket prices for adults are $49-$139; children ages 12 and under, $40-$112; and military personnel, senior citizens and students on certain shows, $44.50-$89.50.
