EDDINGTON, Maine — Two men suffered minor injuries Monday morning after a collision on Route 9 sent a sport utility vehicle careening into a house, police said.
Mikel Richards, 53, of Holden was turning left onto Route 9 from Clewleyville Road when his pickup was struck by a Chevy Blazer driven by Mark Bishop, 56, of Brewer, according to Deputy Daren Mason of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
Bishop was heading east on Route 9 as Richards pulled out, Mason said. The impact caused Bishop’s vehicle to hit the house at 8 Main Road. A window on the first floor of the home was broken. The crash was reported at 6:40 a.m.
Nobody inside the residence was injured, the deputy said. Richards’ truck came to rest on the lawn.
The house and both vehicles suffered extensive damage but neither vehicle was demolished, Mason said.
Bishop and Richards, who were both traveling solo, were transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center for neck pain and released.
