BANGOR — Husson University will hold February break baseball camps for kids ages 7-18. Offensive camp will be held Feb. 17-18; and pitching and defensive camp will be held Feb. 19-20. GORHAM — The University of Southern Maine Huskies baseball team will hold its 24th annual Baseball Clinic for players in grades three through 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Costello Field House on the Gorham campus of University of Southern Maine. Players will learn proper pitching, defensive and hitting techniques from Huskies’ baseball staff and team members. Clinic participants will be grouped by age and ability and should bring their own bat and glove. The fee is $50 per registrant. It will be led by Ed Flaherty. Registration forms are available

PRESQUE ISLE — The Northern Maine Board of Approved Baseball Umpires will hold its annual umpire clinic for all prospective umpires at 5:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Feb. 25, and run for seven weeks, at Northern Maine Community College in Room 109 of Andrews Hall. ORONO — Roundball at the Rec Youth Basketball Tournament will be held in February and March at New Balance Student Recreation Center in Orono. Tournaments will be: boys grades three and four, Feb. 15-16; girls grades seven and eight, Feb. 23; boys grades seven and eight, March 1-2; boys grades five and six, March 8-9; and girls grades five and six, March 15-16.

ORONO and VEAZIE — Orono Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the Orono-Veazie Hoop Classic basketball Tournament. The boys fifth-sixth and seventh-eighth tournaments will be held Feb. 22-23, and the girls fifth-sixth and seventh-eighth tournaments will be held March 1-2. SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Harbor House Community Service Center in Southwest Harbor invites the girls and boys junior high and high school basketball teams to register for the 22nd annual Great Harbor Shoot-Out basketball tournament March 14-16, at gymnasiums at Mount Desert Island, Trenton and Ellsworth. Tournament is a fundraiser for Harbor House. Volunteers are needed to sell tickets, at the door, running clocks and selling concessions. BREWER — Brewer Parks & Recreation Department will offer Tee Time Tune-up golf lessons, noon-1 p.m. beginning Thursday, March 13, at Brewer Auditorium Gymnasium. Lessons are designed for players of all levels, from fundamentals to fine-tuning. Instructor will be Mark Hall, PGA professional. Cost is $35 for residents and $45 for non-residents. DOVER-FOXCROFT — Snow Golf Tournament 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Foxcroft Golf Club, to benefit Pine Tree Hospice. Snow golf uses tennis balls instead of golf balls. Scramble format with two players per team. Other family activities including tug of war, snowball toss, snow coloring, freeze tag and more. The cost for playing snow golf, which includes lunch, is $25 per person with a student rate of $15. Lunch is $5 separately. Family rate for lunch and activities, $20. ROCKPORT — Maine Coast Skaters Youth Hockey Association, Camden Hills Regional High School Hockey boosters, and Midcoast Ice Cats Hockey boosters are gearing up for the 9th annual Hat Trick Auction at 6 p.m. Feb. 7, at Samoset Resort. MidCoast Recreation Center is home ice to more than 180 kids who participate in hockey programs. This auction will help supply ice time, needed equipment, and scholarships for those in need. BANGOR — The Penobscot Ski Bash will be held 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, at Bangor Municipal Golf Course, 278 Webster Ave. Penobscot Ski Bash is a free, family-focused ski event designed to encourage skiers of all ages and abilities to enjoy cross country skiing. Cross-country skis will be available to rent at no charge. Try out laser biathlon, radar speed skiing, a scavenger hunt, an obstacle course, and more. Hot cider, snacks and a bonfire will be available for those who want to warm up after skiing.This event is a collaboration between the Penobscot Valley Ski Club, Maine Winter Sports Center, and Bangor Parks and Recreation Department. CAMDEN — Registration is open for the 2014 U.S. National Toboggan Championships to be held Feb. 7-9, in Camden. A total of 425 teams vie for mahogany trophies and bragging rights for being the fastest on traditional wooden toboggans down the 400-foot-long chute. This event sells out every year and registration closes Jan. 24, 2014. The cost is $30 per person. Experimental teams are $100 and can consist of two, three or four people on the sled. All money raised benefits the Camden Snow Bowl, which will undergo a major renovation in the coming seasons to include new chair lifts and a new lodge. The racing will be held Feb. 7, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Feb. 8, 7 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Feb. 9, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
