The Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion is one of five large capacity venues in the country that have been nominated for an Academy of Country Music Large Venue of the Year Award. The nominees for the ACM Awards were announced Wednesday, Jan. 29

The Bangor Waterfront venue is up against the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla., the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn., the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Wash., and the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, Calif.

The Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion has a capacity of about 16,000 people and has played host in the past few years to country superstars like Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Toby Keith and, this summer, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley and Lady Antebellum.

The Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 6, on CBS, hosted by Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan.
