SMYRNA – Lawrence Sanders, 81, died Jan. 28, 2014, at his home with his family by his side. He was born April 8, 1932, in Oakfield, the son of Alfred and Lena (Nason) Sanders.
Lawrence was a member of IOUE for 40 years. He enjoyed his trips to Hawaii, fishing, and chop suey.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy (Curtis) Sanders of Smyrna; three children, Brenda Sanders and her husband, Kenneth Jenkins, of Sebastopol, Calif., Dorothy White and her husband, Peter, of Stuart, Fla., and Keith Sanders and his wife, Tressa, of Binghampton, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Cindy, Katerina, and Erica; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Viola Hersey of Oakfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, and 1-2 p.m. Thursday, at Dyer Brook Community Church, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with the Revs. David Fox and Andy Harthorne officiating.
